Living in rural Vermont allowed me to be an industrious and creative, analytical problem solver. It taught me the value and grit of labor. Even at a young age, I liked working with my hands, problem solving, and seeing a finished product that I created.
I moved to Utah and attended college at the University of Utah. After earning a degree in English, I hired onto a wildland fire hand crew, and spent 15 years in the summer heat traveling throughout the nation. The work ethic and camaraderie I experienced led me to a career in fire, hiring on to the structure fire department as well, where I continue to work today.
I also spent these same years buying and remodeling multiple personal homes. I couldn’t afford to have it remodeled by someone else and had the fortitude, problem solving skills, and experience to do it myself - from demolition to finish work.
A true handyman is a highly skilled professional requiring a large body of knowledge as well as sharp critical thinking skills and problem-solving strategies. Handyman is a blanket term for a wide variety of jobs, and each handyman does not necessarily do all those jobs or do them well.
I am confident in what I do, upfront and honest in what I cannot do, and I look forward to assisting you on your next project.
